Here is the exhibit “Growing Up in a Small Town, Slater, Iowa”, which went on display December 4. It will be up through the winter months. Come and see it and reminisce about being a kid in Slater.
Sunday September 25 was a cool sunny day and the sun shone down on a group of over 50 people who attended the first Cemetery Walk. The portrayers did a wonderful job pulling the crowd into the story of their characters and offering great details of past times and pioneer achievements. The group gathered after at Heritage Hall for cider, coffee, and snacks and had a great visit with the portrayers about their forebears. Thanks to all those who attended but most of all to the portrayers and the committee who put the successful event together.
